[Husband]: what do we have on TV tonight?
[Me]: nothing. we’ll have to watch tummy reductions and excess skin removal on discovery health.
[Husband]: that’s all they have on that channel. they should call it “discovery thin.”

Conference calls are much more tolerable if you can manage to take a mental mini-break to a happy fantasy world. Like on those Corona ads.

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed at the job lately. The man (I work for the man) said to “shift” some of my responsibilities to other departments to alleviate some of the excess burden.
Shifting responsibilities is like tying a dead horse to your leg with a short rope, and pushing it off a cliff. You know you’re going to get dragged down there with it when it hits bottom.
I say dead horse beacause there’s a “beating it to death” metophor in there somewhere…
